Simple Flowers

I was asked to make something very simple and plain in pink and brown and this is what I came up with. I coverd an 8" round yellow cake in brown fondant and used brown and pink fondant to cut out the flowers. I let them dry a little and then shaped them in the way I wanted them and placed them on my cake. With the left over fondant I rolled it out into long spirals and twisted them together to make the rope border. Once the cake was assembled I used my steamer to steam the cake and make it shiny!

13th Birthday

This cake is a regular 13x9 cake covered in buttercream icing tinted pink. I cut out the flowers in fondant in different shades of pink then arranged them on the top of my cake. I then cut out circles in the different pink and some brown that I tinted and arranged them on the top and sides of my cake.

Cake for a Very Special Woman

Once again I have used Wilton's cake pans in the oval shape for my cakes. I covered both of them in pink fondant and then cut out strips of purple for the bottom tier. I rolled some long strips of pink and purple and twisted them together for the borders and then cut out some purple and pink dots. The 21 is normal birthday candles that I colored grey and then added gemstones to. I bought the jewels at the craft store for a previous project and had some left over so I added them to give it some more decoration.

Everyone Loves Elmo

I used Wilton's Elmo cake pan but instead of piping with stars I filled in the nose, eyes and mouth and smoothed it out. I then used my small spatula to apply the red icing in different directions to make it look more like fur.

A Very Special Suprise

My cousin's husband called and said he was having a suprise party for his wife, bring a cake please! This is what we came up with. The bottom is a yellow cake with strawberry filling, buttercream icing and covered in brown fondant. I cut out circles in 2 shades of pink and placed them around the sides along with some gemstones I had. The top layer is yellow cake with chocolate icing and pecans for the filling. It is covered in pink fondant and strips cut out of brown. I then made different sized balls in pinks and browns for the borders. The 30 is regular white candle that you can buy at Wal-Mart. I painted over the yellow strips around them with a grey color I mixed up and then glued on the gemstones.

Grandma Loves to Gamble

3 card poker for my grandmother. I baked 6 13x9 cakes and arranged them to look like a poker table. I covered it in buttercream frosting tinted black and green. The chips are made with a round cookie cutter cut out of fondant and painted the different colors. I printed out the cards on edible paper and used fondant to make the box in the top to the cards being delt. Everything is 100% edible except for the playing cards in the black box.
